Remodeling Silver Beach.
Silver Beach runs along the west shore of Lake Whatcom, and it is a real mix of housing. Some homes started as small lake cabins and grew over the decades into full-time residences. Others are newer builds that went up as the area filled in. What ties them together is the water. Living this close to the lake is the whole appeal, and it is also the thing that drives most of the remodeling we do here.
A lot of the work is tied to conversions, taking a place that was a seasonal cabin and making it work year round, with a kitchen and baths that can handle daily use. Lakeside moisture is constant, so waterproofing and ventilation are not optional add-ons. We build wet areas to shed water and we make sure bathrooms move humid air out, because near the lake a bathroom that cannot breathe will not last. Get that detailing right and these homes hold up beautifully.

What's behind the walls
Near the lake, moisture is the main concern. We waterproof every wet area, build in strong ventilation, replace any failing plumbing or wiring, and detail transitions so lakeside humidity does not shorten the life of the work.
